We signed with ICE as a Partner as we felt the opportunity to network with C Suite Executives whilst doing something we loved was too good to miss. We also saw that the cost of the partnership could be offset by working with the team at ICE to form networks and create business opportunity through ICE connections. We strongly believe that with any form of sponsorship, measurement and getting a return on investment (ROI) is imperative. Through ICE members and the team at ICE, we have opened up a number of opportunities to work together to create value propositions that are win-win situations – for us, the ICE member company, and their customers.
Too many of us end up narrowing our networks around our busy day-to-day working lives. ICE gave me a fun way to expand my network of interesting people, both social and business. Cycling in the bunch encourages honest chat among equals … as we all sweat away realising we are not as young as we once were!
As someone who was new to Singapore last year, joining ICE gave me great jump start to network with other executives in a similar situation to me, in a very comfortable “non-sales” environment… The quarterly bike ride and breakfast provide an excellent platform to continue to build relationships and share ideas in a casual atmosphere… Finally, thanks to the tips of the professional “guest” riders and technology insights from guest speakers, I’ve also become a better rider over the last 12 months!
The ICE network provides an outstanding framework to connect with likeminded executives in a relaxed and healthy environment. Through a common interest in cycling, members can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, ideas and challenges with their peers without prejudice. It also provides the ability to build business through potential strategic partnerships or indeed new business opportunities.
Initially...unsure what to expect, it’s been a great journey to become part of a community that really understands what’s important to create meaningful relationships instead of traditional “boring” networking. It’s refreshing to be able to attend regular sessions that combine a passion for cycling along with relevant, insightful and hugely entertaining guest speakers. Relationships first through a common interest and business opportunities second is a terrific way of openly engaging with peers across a diverse range of industries.
As a Senior Executive it's often challenging to truly diverse your network beyond the circle of your existing business environment. Our time is limited and our priorities predetermined. ICE has been refreshing in that it is a cadre of Senior Executives and Business Decision makers who come together around the common interest of Cycling. The shared purposes of business and pleasure meet, allow you the time to really connect at a more fundamental level. It promotes sharing, understanding and at times even coaching that you can bring back to add value to your work day. It is an extraordinary way to connect, diversify your network and give you that perspective you may never have otherwise obtained.
Ever since I worked with Music for Life – a not-for-profit organisation that works with children in Africa – I have believed in the power of communities to drive social and economic change. As a business community, ICE is a world-first. We created this unique community in Singapore to bring together busy regional executives through their shared passion for cycling and taking on challenges. As the first Chair of the Steering Board for ICE, it has been a privilege to see this venture grow from an idea to a group of over 100 senior industry leaders in just over one year!
We've taken a long term view on leveraging the ICE model with pleasantly surprising activity so far: multiple new connections, direct approaches at events and sessions, requests for meetings from members and their peers. Extending our corporate partnership for a further 3 years we understand the opportunity is not to "close deals" but to "own relationships"! In short - it's about sustainable business!
A quick thanks for hosting another great event! Feedback from our guests was very positive and tied in with the following morning's Social Spin a very fruitful outcome. Money couldn't buy the enjoyment we experienced for the day and this has defiantly moved us forward in the relationship and current deal we're working on.
