Kick Start to 2016 – BWTB in Melbourne
12 Feb, 2016
Friday February 12th welcomed the start of the 2016 ICE member series in beautiful Melbourne where we welcomed a number of new members and corporate partners to the community!
With a warm morning, registration was buzzing with 65 members and 2 special guests fresh from the Herald Sun Tour, although BMW Melbourne’s fleet of impressively sharp support cars turned more than a few heads. Something BMW’s Geoff Briscoe and ICE are excited to be sharing more with the community throughout the series.
Rolling out from Mr Hobson on to iconic Beach Road, the morning’s route was always going to be a great way to start the day, as conversations in the bunches spun as easily as the wheels beneath.
On return from the ride, EYC3’s Kieran Earnshaw provided a unique overview of the Cyber Security landscape and how business’ are beginning to consider the serious implications of not prioritising this issue. Three take aways we wanted to share from the session were:
- Australia is the second most attacked country in the world.
- Most organisations are immature and reactive when it comes to having mechanisms to effectively combat a cyber security breach.
- Analytics help establish preventative measures against cyber attack.
Following breakfast, and in keeping with our commitment to showcasing upcoming cycling talent, Joe Cooper and Chris Hamilton shared their experiences from the recent Tour Down Under and Sun Tour. Joe’s life moto of “you miss 100% of chances you don’t take” was the perfect back drop to the story behind his sensational ride in last week’s race, that witnessed him toe-to-toe with the current Tour de France champion Chris Froome.
Once again, we thank all our partners for their continued support and vision. Together, we are committed to accelerating healthy connections to evolve your community!

Virtual National Champs – AU
26 Jun, 2015
The EYC3 + Strava Analytics Project in conjunction with Australian members (Australian Cycling Executives, ACE), delivered it’s results to 80+ members in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide Breakfast with The Bunch events, via a virtual race following sections of the Tour de France.
A range of results provided insights into the community’s riding (and cycling spending!) habits and analysis by industry and sector. For example, results showed that ACE members from retail trade were the fastest with government and transport the slowest!
The results are now heralded as the ACE Virtual National Championships and have led to collaboration projects with Australian Institute of Sport, Orcia GreenEdge, Velon and local government.

Singapore and Annette Edmondson
20 Jun, 2015
Singapore members enjoyed a Vodafone presented ‘Breakfast with The Bunch’ recently with ‘advanced technology kit’ in action courtesy of Chris Reynolds from Champion System. The three hour monsoon didn’t phase Chris in kit at all! Rides were cut short to keep all safe and together, with 36 of our most ‘waterproof’ members defiantly rolling out for a social 45 minute ride, lead by one of our favourite Ambassadors, Annette Edmondson of Wiggle Honda.
As each table buzzed with conversation, Peter Bocquet, Vodafone Global Enterprise’s Head of Unified Communications, AMAP, and Anupam Sahay of Oliver Wyman, shared a number of strategic insights on the topic of IOT and Interconnectedness. Our 3 take aways being:
- The world around us is changing at a faster pace than ever. To stay ahead you have to adapt your business and embrace new ways of working. Being mobile and connected has never been so critical.
- Technology & social media is blurring the boundaries between our personal and work lives presenting new challenges and opportunities to compete.
- Big data and the level of information available presents a new opportunity to challenge traditional business models and accelerate time to market.
Once again, our own National, Commonwealth and World Champion, Netti Edmondson captivated the room with her open and honest approach to her journey so far. At only 23 years of age this is a journey for us all to watch, support and perhaps just be a little inspired, next time you hear the rain outside your window first thing in the morning!

ICE Steering Council – APAC
30 May, 2015
International Cycling Executives (ICE) recently launched it’s unique community for senior business leaders in Singapore, as part of a strategic growth plan to expand the model across Asia, Europe and North America.
With a number of global organisations securing partnerships to support this healthy and authentic relationship platform and a new regional Steering Council guiding the local model, ICE CEO Ryan O’Neill commented: “To me Singapore is the first choice when considering where to begin activating our vision of healthy, connected business leaders in Asia”.
Heading up ICE’s Steering Council is recently appointed Vodafone President for Asia, Ben Elms. “Sharing our vision of a more personal platform to create connections, Ben has an innate sense of how people should be connected to achieve beneficial business outcomes” O’Neill commented.
As the local Head of the Steering Council, Elms’ first task is to establish a group of senior executive peers, passionate about ICE’s approach. This group will assist the ICE team and recently appointed Head of Engagement, Nyree McCoy on member and partner engagement initiatives.
On the topic of utilising a Steering Council model O’Neill said “We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of so many influential people, all generous enough to offer their time and effort to evolve our model to suit their local community”. Asked if this is a new approach for the organisation O’Neill commented: “Not at all, our Melbourne Steering Council has been an extremely successful and rewarding initiative and has directly led to the creation of a Steering Council in Sydney and now Singapore”.
International Cycling Executives is a unique and exclusive relationship platform for senior business executive, activated through an interest in a healthier, more authentic way to connect.

Interconnectedness with Vodafone
